About the Artists
Jennah Barry
Hailing from the coastal haven of Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia, Jennah Barry is one of Atlantic Canada’s surest sirens. Her undeniable, rosewater voice sets a mood wherein even the hardest truths seem palatable. Moving effortlessly between folk, country and soft rock motifs, Barry’s music sets her at the forefront of a tradition of women making music as strong as it is sentimental.
Colin Nealis
Colin Sigor Nealis is a multi-instrumentalist, composer and arranger. His string arrangements can be heard on the Polaris Prize shortlisted album The Party by Andy Shauf (2017). His film composing can be heard in the short documentary My Dead Dadʼs Porno Tapes, which premiered at Sundance (2018) and went on to win best Documentary Short at Cinema Eye Honors, the Grand Jury Award for Best Documentary Short at SXSW 2018, TIFF Canada’s Top Ten (2019) and was shortlisted for an Academy Award in 2019. He is a graduate of Humberʼs Bachelor of Music Degree (2010) and now works in his studio in Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia. Most recent work includes string arrangements for the bands/singer-songwriters: Aidan Knight, Courtney Marie Andrews, Jenny Berkel, Deep Dark Woods, Loving and Sam Evian as well as producing and arranging credits on Jennah Barryʼs sophomore release, Holiday.
