About

Musique Royale is delighted to invite Ensemble Callinos to perform in Lunenburg on Sunday October 12th at 4pm. The lyricism of the flute, cello, and piano trio has inspired many works by French composers.

This trio will lead you into a discovery of playful melodies of Pierné, the luminous colors of Gaubert, the oneiric world of Debussy, and the brilliant virtuosity of Farrenc in this concert combining charm and passion.

About Ensemble Callinos

Composed of Edyelwys Silva, Thomas Chartré, and Jeanne Frenette, Ensemble Callinos presents major works for this unique formation as well as original transcription of canonical repertoire. Their name Callinos is a combination of Calliope, muse of poetry, and Linos, master of the lyre. Their instrumentation of flute, cello, and piano is an inherently lyrical formation that the ensemble looks to represent. Socially engaged, Ensemble Callinos strives to bring music to all audiences through diverse and original projects. Since its foundation in 2022, it has given concerts in partnership with various organisations that support vulnerable communities, such as Share the Warmth, le Chaînon, and CHSLD VIGI-Reine-Elisabeth.
