Musique Royale is delighted to present three outstanding individual artists of early music as they perform as a trio. They will perform repertoire by Bach, Schumann, Saint-Saens, Massenet, Rachmaninoff, and Strauss in the intimate listening setting of Cecilia’s Retreat in Mahone Bay.
About The Artists
Alexander Dobson
British-Canadian baritone Alexander Dobson has been praised for his musical and dramatic artistry on both opera and concert stages. His portrayal of Wozzeck conducted by Yannick Nézet-Séguin with Théâtre du Nouveau Monde and Orchestre Métropolitain was lauded for his “gripping embodiment of Wozzeck” (Journal Voir). Other roles of note include Guglielmo (Così Fan Tutte), Belcoré (L’elisir d’amore) and Ned Keene (Peter Grimes), all with L’Opera de Montréal.
Michael Rose
Michael Rose, pianist, vocal coach, writer, composer, has performed in concert with many of Canada’s finest artists and has enjoyed a long association with several leading arts organizations including Opera in Concert, Toronto Operetta Theatre, Forte – Toronto Gay Men’s Chorus, Edmonton Opera, Alberta College, The Banff Centre, and St. Louis Opera Theatre.
